Arctic Fox possesses a soft crinkly texture and length that is perfect for streamers and hairwing patterns, especially when a subtle life-like motion is desired. It has less guard hairs than the body portion and hence it tends to flow over the top of streamers as wings. Many of the European tube patterns have a collar made of fox zonked strips…but we feel the tails perhaps work better. However they are tougher to hackle around a hook and must be tied in around the shank.
Due to the ever growing demand in Asia for quality furs these are drastically increasing in price like all furs. And yes these are consider wildlife so we only sell them in the USA.
